School Fundraising Project

Introducing a baking, art and science experiment that created memories and squeals, “Flubber” is brought to you by the curious hands of elementary students!   We made this souvenir for a PTA Fundraiser.  If you have any kids, you’ve probably learned by now that Slime is squishy and fun to touch. Enjoy the recipe to make at home.  Note: We bought all the ingredients at The Dollar Tree, including the bowl.

Have a good time with this project!

Ingredients
16 oz Elmers glue
1 can Shaving cream (we used scented)
1 Foam soap (important to have the foaming pump)
1 Liquid hand soap
1 Hand lotion
Borax powder
Cornstarch or tapioca starch/flour
Food coloring or washable paint (food coloring works best)

Supplies
Large bowl
Silicon mixing spatulas
Measuring cups and spoons
Picture
Batch of 4
Premix 3 level tsp Borax into 3 cups warm water
Pour 2 cups glue into bowl
Add 2 cups shaving cream
Add 2 cups foam soap
Combine above ingredients
Add 5 Tbls cornstarch (carefully mix)
Add 4 pumps hand soap
Add 8 pumps hand lotion
Combine
Add food coloring (4-8 drops)
Add 12 tsp borax mixture, mix
Add 1 tsp at a time borax mixture until correct consistency (you’ll know it’s the right consistency when it collects from the sides of the bowl and congels in a sticky mass…but you don’t want it too sticky)
Remove from bowl and knead with hands A LOT (if sticky, add more Borax mixture, but not too much because you can’t recover from hardening it too much with Borax)
Add pumps of body lotion to make stretchy throughout kneading process
