Since my last post about this, I wanted to share an update that my studio was able to donate 2% of sales proceeds in 2016 to benefit The Des Moines Art Center School Tours Fund. #ArtTransforms #IowaSTEAM #desmoinesartcenter #Iowapublicschools #IowaArtistFellow2016

Looking ahead, I will continue to donate at least a percentage of year-end profit from all sales to arts education for K-12 students.  I'd love to learn more about your favorite arts education organization.  Please share your experiences and recommendations with me in the comments.

I invited my daughter's Girl Scout troop into my studio for a sketching session. My wife caught this moment. #LeanIn
As a young adult, I finally started to feel the potential that visual arts had in my life.  It was an opportune time for something positive to grab me.

What if more students had access to Art?  The earlier a child has exposure and real-life experience with Art, the more of a chance the child has to better understand who they are and the world around them.

Having lived in New York City and Seattle prior to taking roots in Des Moines, my appreciation for The Des Moines Art Center is great!  Did you know the DMAC is free all year round?  The quality of art in the permanent collection is world-class.  The curated shows and open lectures are outstanding.

In 2016, I donated 2% of the proceeds from the sale of my artwork to the School Tours Fund.  Your purchase of my artwork will continue to fund this cause.

Again, I will continue to donate at least a percentage of year-end profit from all sales to arts education for K-12 students.  Don't forget to share your experiences and recommendations with me in the comments below.

About the School Tours Fund
Each year more than 18,000 students participate in free, docent-led tours of the Des Moines Art Center. These tours are provided at no charge to the schools.
